What is the GoodGiving Challenge?
The GoodGiving Challenge is a week-long online giving challenge for local nonprofits hosted by Blue Grass Community Foundation and Smiley Pete Publishing. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the GoodGiving Challenge. Since it’s beginning, the GoodGiving Challenge has raised over $10 million for local nonprofits!

Give Strategically to Maximize Your Impact
When you donate to Habitat for Humanity of Madison and Clark Counties your gift will empower families like the Callahans to earn their way to homeownership with new strength that will last for generations. And when you give online at BGgives.org during the GoodGiving Challenge, your donation is amplified by matching incentives, sponsored cash, and endowments that will maximize the impact of your giving.
Each day of the Good GivingChallenge from December 1-7 brings a new and exciting set of matching challenges and prizes that will go a long way toward helping local families find strength and stability through homeownership, especially when you give on strategic days.
Click below to see the best day to give based on the amount of your donation. Regardless of the day you give, it is best to GIVE EARLY IN THE DAY before the daily pool of matching funds is exhausted.
Here is a listing of the best days to maximize matching gifts based on the amount of your donation. To be eligible for matching gifts, donations must be made online at BGgives.org/habitatmadisonclark.
FOR GIFTS OF $10-$50
Wednesday, December 2 beginning at 9:00 am: This will give us a $1 per $1 match on unique gifts of up to $50 until the pool is exhausted.
FOR GIFTS OF $51 and $150
Friday, December 4 at 10:00 am: $1 per $1 match until the pool is exhausted. This donation must be made at the 10:00 am hour to be eligible for the match.
FOR GIFTS OF $150-$250
Tuesday, December 1–beginning at 9:00: $0.50 per $1 on gifts up to $250 until the pool is exhausted.
FOR GIFTS OF $250-$500
Monday, December 7 beginning at 9:00 am: $0.50 per $1 for gifts up to $500 until the pool is exhausted.

Clark County Community Foundation $250,000 Match Challenge
Throughout the GoodGiving Challenge, the Clark County Community Foundation will provide a dollar-for-dollar match for all Clark County nonprofits, up to $10,000 per nonprofit.
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1
Murry Foundation $100,000 Match Day
The first $200,000 in donations of $250 and less will be increased by 50%. Maximum $175 match per donor. Match lasts from 9am until the match pool is exhausted.
Thomson R. Bryant Jr & Betty R. Bryant Fund at BGCF $25,000 Match
The first 100 nonprofits that registered for the GoodGiving Challenge are eligible for a 50¢ per $1 match on the first $500 they raise on Giving Tuesday from 9am-9pm.
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 2
MacAdam Family Foundation $25,000 Match Day
The first $25,000 in donations up to $50 will be doubled. Maximum $50 match per donor. This $1 for $ match lasts from 9am until the match pool is exhausted.
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 3
$30,000 Blue Grass Community Foundation Endowment Challenge
This challenge lasts from 9am-9pm and it’s all about participation! Giving just $25 on this day can help your favorite nonprofits win big!
Every nonprofit that has 50 or more unique donors contribute at least $25 on this day will be entered in a drawing to win a $5,000 endowment prize. The nonprofit with the most unique donors (minimum 50) contributing $25 or more will receive a $15,000 endowment prize. The nonprofit with the second-highest number of unique donors (minimum 50) contributing $25 or more will receive a $10,000 endowment prize.
FRIDAY, DECEMBER 4
Knight Foundation $25,000 10th Anniversary Celebration!
During the 10am hour:
Donations up to $100 made during the 10am hour will be doubled (lasts until the the matching pool is exhausted)
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5 – SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6
Mithcell Family Foundation $50,000 Fast Break Challenge
Between 9am on Saturday and 9pm Sunday, the first 10 nonprofits to raise $5,000 get a $2,500 prize, and the next 25 nonprofits to raise $2,500 win a $1,000 prize!
MONDAY, DECEMBER 7
Marksbury Family Foundation $60,000 Match Day
The first $120,000 in donations of $500 and less will be increased by 50%. Maximum $250 match per donor. This match lasts from 9am – 11:59pm, or until the match pool is exhausted.

How long has the Good Giving Challenge been around?
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the GoodGiving Challenge. Since its inception in 2011, the GoodGiving Challenge has raised over $10 million for local nonprofits. In 2019 alone, gifts totalling $1.68 million were distributed to 131 regional nonprofits.
Where do the matching funds and prizes come from?
Matching funds and prizes are provided by the various foundations and endowments that sponsor the GoodGiving Challenge. You can find a full list of GoodGiving sponsors here. This year over $600,000 will be awarded to regional nonprofits thanks to their generous sponsorship.
How do I give?
To quality for matching funds and prizes, make your donation with a credit or debit card on the Habitat for Humanity of Madison and Clark Counties page of the GoodGiving Website between December 1 and December 7, 2020.
There are different matches every day. How do I know the best day to give?
Each day of the GoodGiving Challenge has a unique pool of matching funds distributed to nonprofits until the daily pool is exhausted. So, when you give strategically (and GIVE EARLY IN THE DAY), you will maximize the matching funds your donation receives. You can find details on the best days to give based on the amount of your gift under the “Best Days to Give” tab.
Can I donate by check instead?
Donating on the GoodGiving website is convenient and secure, but we highly value your gifts made by check also. Although contributions made by mail will not be eligible for matching funds, they count toward our goal and will go a long way toward helping families in need of a safe, decent, affordable place to call home.
