We are honored to have partnered with the city and with generous individuals, churches, businesses, and groups in our community to finally make those dreams a reality!

Now it’s time to CELEBRATE with the Short family as they receive the keys to their forever Habitat home! And since the Short’s dedication marks the completion of phase one of Lincoln Street Renewal, we are doing it up big with a Bless the Block wrap-up celebration and cookout!

We hope you will come and share in the joy of this long-awaited day and of six families who have found a safe, decent, affordable place to call home on Lincoln Street!

Our two local ReStore locations and our online store support the mission of Habitat for Humanity by generating revenue to build and renovate Habitat homes in Madison & Clark Counties. ReStore’s inventory, which includes new and used items, comes from builders, retailers, distributors, and individuals who donate everything from building supplies and materials to light fixtures and furniture. When businesses and individuals donate reusable goods to Habitat ReStores, these materials end up as part of remodeling, home improvement and decorating projects instead of in landfills.

Can’t fit your donations in your car? No problem. Schedule a pickup, and we will come and get it for you!

About Our Homes

Our homes are designed and constructed with long-term affordability for our homeowners in mind. Newly constructed homes have above-code insulation in the exterior walls and attic. Low-flow water fixtures, LED lighting, and Energy Star appliances are standard in new homes. Each home receives a Home Energy Rating System (HERS) Rating to quantify the energy savings and assess the home’s estimated utility usage. Based on the last two years, the average HERS Rating is 56 – approximately 8 points better than the average new home in Kentucky! These improvements lower monthly utility bills and help increase the home’s durability by controlling moisture, humidity, pests, and air infiltration. We opt for concrete porches and patios instead of wood decks and solid-surface flooring instead of carpet to decrease future maintenance costs. Covered porches over entryways protect doors from weathering and related deterioration. When the grade of the lot allows, we employ zero-step entry to help the homeowner age in place and enjoy their new home for the decades to come. When needed, design changes are made to accommodate disabled occupants, such as handicap-accessible bathrooms.
