November Newsletter
As the crisp air of November settles in and leaves continue to fall, gratitude fills our hearts for the incredible support from our volunteers, donors, and community partners. Together, we continue to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of families in need here in Madison and Clark counties.
Bluegrass Gives
If you are planning on giving this Thanksgiving season, we kindly request that you schedule your donations for December 2nd. BlueGrass Gives is price-matching every donation and we have the opportunity to really make an impact! Your donation of $10 or more can go further with matches, prizes, and giving moments all day long - helping unlock extra dollars for Habitat for Humanity!
Bluegrass Gives isn’t just a fundraiser, it’s a day that sparks generosity, celebrates community, and shines a spotlight on your local nonprofits, making Central and Appalachia Kentucky a better place to call home. In 2024 alone, our community raised $2.93 million for 201 nonprofits!

Home Dedication Highlights
Last month, we proudly celebrated the Hart Family Home Dedication in Richmond! Friends, community members, Mayor Blythe, new neighbors, volunteers, ReStore staff, and donors all gathered to welcome the Hart family into their new home. It was a heartfelt day filled with smiles, tears, and gratitude - a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together to lift up its neighbors. The Hart family was not only given keys to their new home, but they also received gorgeous handmade quilts, a personalized family Bible, and several potted flowers to decorate their new porch. Thank you to everyone who contributed your time, skills, and resources to make this dream a reality!
Volunteer Spotlight: April King
This month, we’re shining a light on our wonderful April King, who has faithfully volunteered, every single day since the spring, at our Richmond ReStore. Her hard work, kindness, customer service, and dedication reflect the very heart of Habitat’s mission. We are so grateful for her and everything she tirelessly does for us.

7th Annual Golf Shamble
Our 7th Annual Golf Shamble at Gibson Bay Golf Course was a swinging success! Thanks to the incredible support of our board members Hameed and Larilynn Koury, sponsors, players, and volunteers, we raised $23k to help build safe, affordable homes for families in Madison and Clark Counties. The day was filled with sunshine, friendly competition, and community spirit - proving once again that when we come together, we can make a lasting difference. We’re deeply grateful to everyone who helped make this event our most successful Golf Shamble yet!
